The lecturers will receive back pay, healthcare benefits and other rights. Rehired FPF faculty members were also offered two-year contracts, according to a press release from former FPF lecturer Robert Ovetz, who helped spearhead the organizing effort.
After decades of exclusion from the university’s collective bargaining agreement, the lecturers gained recognition under a University Council-American Federation of Teachers, or UC-AFT, contract, the press release notes.
