🔥RESCUE🔥 oaklandfirefighters September 21, 2024 #deerrescue A neighbor of Station 6 stopped by to report seeing a deer stuck between a house and garage while on their morning walk. Engine 6 arrived and found a deer upside down between two walls with only about 10” of space. Realizing they would need more assistance, Engine 6 requested Rescue 1. After discussing a plan #youroaklandfirefighters tied a rope around the deers legs, lifted her up off the ground between the walls and turned her around and set her back down right side up. This allowed the crews to pull her to the opening safely. Before releasing the deer back into its habitat, responding crews made sure to safely remove the rescue ropes from the legs so the deer could have full use of its legs when it was ultimately set free. Thank you to the neighbors who reported this incident to OFD, and to the staff at Oakland Animal Control, this was a great team effort. #rescue #firefighter #animalrescue
