Got the “shot,” but at what cost? Context - We were staying in Boston and drove out to Orleans, VT to see totality. Getting there was smooth, but getting back was the longest traffic stop I’ve ever been apart of. We left the site around 5pm to drive back. Little did we know, the interstates were not prepared. Merging almost 7 lanes into an eventual 1 lane interstate road, we were within 4 miles for nearly 6 hours stuck in traffic. We got back to Boston at 3am. Many will ask, was it worth THAT? Most definitely not, in hindsight.
