The collision occurred this morning at the intersection of Derby and Warring streets, on the corner of the Clark Kerr Campus.
The bus driver was cooperative with the investigation, which is being handled by the BPD accident investigation team, White said. There have been no charges against the driver or evidence to suggest the driver was using alcohol or drugs.
As first reported by the Berkeley Scanner, the intersection is the same one where 5-year-old Zachary Cruz was struck and killed in 2009, which caused his parents to advocate for pedestrian safety and the corner intersection to be named “Zachary’s Corner.”
