FRIDAY NIGHT STAGE LIGHTS: Last Friday night, MacTheatre presented its second performance of “Tuck Everlasting” to kick off the weekend productions. Junior Joseph Blackwood who plays the paternal role of the Tuck family, Angus Tuck, said the crowd on Friday made the performance special.
“I really did like Friday night,” Blackwood said. “I think it was a huge improvement from our opening night. I knew a lot of people in the audience so it was a lot of fun.”
Blackwood said along with the obvious spectacle of the large dance numbers of the musical, the message of the story is also very important.
“I really like the message of how life is a beautiful thing, and you shouldn’t take it for granted,” Blackwood said. “Even though all the hardships we go through, it’s a cycle, and there’s so many beautiful moments in life. I really like that message.”
Blackwood said it has been both exciting and hard work to prepare for the performances.
