While watching a YouTube news recap, I hear a story about organ donation logistics (I know, weird). The story starts by explaining how there is only one US non-profit that distributes all of the organs, and in many ways this can be a logistical nightmare. Even if we are to assume perfect moral decisions, the idea that one managerial decision can be the determining factor of receiving a life saving organ is very strange to me.
So I’m laying in bed, thinking about the 17 people a day who die while on organ waitlists and I wanted to make a piece that resembles this.
I have always been intrigued by the intersection between beautiful and grotesque, and when a subject such as organ transplants gets stuck in my head, I figure it could be a cool subject for me to explore.
In all honestly I might have gone a little to far into the “grotesque” and lacking in the “beautiful” but you guys can be the judge of that ;)
