For the past 25 years, surfaid has worked to improve the health, well-being and resilience of remote communities connected to us through surfing, establishing community-led development programs throughout Indonesia and the Solomon Islands.
Each September, surfers across the globe take part in the
#MakeAWave challenge - surfing and fundraising for 30 days straight to help bring clean water, sanitation, food security, and basic healthcare to the heartlands of surfing.
Their “hand up not a hand out” philosophy means that our programs focus on empowering and supporting local communities with clear goals, effective implementation, and continuous monitoring and evaluation for a lasting impact.
