Continuing on with our season projections, we've got the New York Rangers at
#6, and atop the Metro.
The Rangers continue to look like a strong East contender. We've finally seen Alexis Lafreniere take the strides towards being a legitimate first-liner, and the team added Reilly Smith to an already good forward core as well. Obviously this team has their struggles in the postseason, but they are a known good regular season team and that won't change, especially with this offense.
Defensively, New York as a top-3 defenseman in Adam Fox headlining the blue-line, and the rest of the D-core supporting cast is good as well. Jacob Trouba is overpaid, but he's a good
#4D option, which is what his role is on this NY team.
In net, New York has a top-3 goaltender in Igor Shesterkin as well, and Jonathan Quick proved to be a reliable backup last season. Should be no issues there.
