Today, September 30 is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (#OrangeShirtDay). This is a day meant to acknowledge the legacy of the Residential School system, honour the healing journey of survivors and their families and remember the thousands of children who never returned home. It also continues the ongoing process of reconciliation. Together with our Indigenous Relations Office, we are committed to working with the community to educate people about the true history of Indigenous people in Calgary and the surrounding areas.
