Tributes have been paid to the American musician, actor, and activist Kris Kristofferson, who has died aged 88.⁠ A Rhodes scholar who graduated from the historic University of Oxford, England, the country singer won three Grammys throughout his career, including the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014. ⁠ With roles including Billy the Kid in the Sam Peckinpah western 'Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid' (soundtracked by Bob Dylan), Sheriff James Averill in cult favourite 'Heaven's Gate', and Abraham Whistler in the 'Blade' trilogy, Kristofferson won a Best Actor Golden Globe for 'A Star is Born' (1976), starring opposite Barbra Streisand.⁠ ⁠ Follow our bio link for a look at his life in pictures and footage, and swipe through to see:⁠ 1.
