“Hard to believe, but in just over 3 months pre-season begins for the 2025 season. The ‘off-season’ has been anything but off!! Recruitment is top of the agenda with many moving parts to consider - performance, retirement, the lure of other clubs (home and abroad), and changing family circumstances. It’s always a challenge to recruit the right blend of player to ensure squad balance and healthy competition. The process is extensive, with three key criteria considered - ‘skillsets’, ‘character’, and ‘ambition’. Simply put, “good people, good at their job on a consistent basis, and driven for personal & team success - people who will leave the jersey in a better place, and will add to the growth of rugby in the Pacific North West.” There is one thing I can say for sure…. the standard of ‘player’ attracted to the MLR is growing in numbers and quality year on year.
