Spencer Horwitz was in left field during his game with the Bourne Braves when he first felt something was deeply wrong. His blurred vision turned to sweaty palms and a racing heart before he was forced to take himself off the field, uncertain of what was happening to his body. One word to describe panic attacks: uncertain. Fast forward 6 years and Spencer has not only made a name for himself with the Toronto Blue Jays, but is also an outspoken mental health advocate both on and off the field. At an away game in Chicago, Horowitz wore green cleats and used a green bat as a public display for mental health awareness. These items were later auctioned off, the proceeds of which went to us here at The Hidden Opponent.
