Atrial fibrillation: let’s
#BreakItDown. ⤵️
1️⃣ Atrial fibrillation (also called AFib) is the most common form of irregular heart rhythm. It affects 1 in 4 people over 40¹.
2️⃣ It is an anomaly of the heart’s electrical activity. Normally, the heart contracts and relaxes to a regular beat based on electrical impulses to pump blood. These signals starts from the sinus node in the right atrium.
3️⃣ AFib tends to be asymptomatic — the only way to efficiently diagnose AFib is to record an electrocardiogram (ECG).
4️⃣ That’s why connected devices with ECG function allow you to monitor your heart at home, increasing significantly the chances of detecting it early.
