“Although I long aspired to be a lawyer, coming from a working-class background and being the first member of my family to enter law school, I never thought it was possible for me. But now, with the conclusion of my first year of law school, I realize all my prior self-doubt and worries held me back. I hope my story can signal to others that they, too, can achieve their dreams. The best advice I can give to any aspiring law student is that the first step is the hardest, but you are not alone. There are many wonderful people - faculty, staff and students alike - who will share with you the guidance and knowledge needed to navigate your way through law school. I am so grateful to be part of this terrific community that works tirelessly to remove societal barriers and make space for diversity and inclusion.”
