“I grew up in a family of engineers, so I had a passion for STEM from a young age. I participated in a program called Technovation in high school, which provided young women an opportunity to be exposed to STEM and help solve a current world issue. This program gave me the confidence to pursue a field that is currently underrepresented and the passion to make a difference in the world. Receiving the Schulich Leader Scholarship will not only support me with my studies, but also help me become a leader and inspiration for other women in STEM. I aspire to create an environment of teamwork, resilience and diversity in underrepresented groups, and build confidence for those considering entering this field.”
Charlise is a first-year Engineering student from Chestermere, Alberta and one of six recipients of the prestigious Schulich Leader Scholarship - awarded to some of the top high school students in Canada. Congrats, Charlise! #ualberta
