As a kid, I’d walk into my dad’s classroom at this small school in Georgia and just stand there, totally captivated. He was up there, passionately teaching U.S. history to a bunch of high schoolers, and I felt this rush of pride. It was like he had all the answers in the world, sharing them with such confidence it looked effortless. I really looked up to my dad. Watching him live out his purpose was a game changer for me. His passion fired me up—I wanted to do what he did: help others learn and grow. Teaching was a big deal in our home.
