#GoffsOrby Book 1 to remember 💫 More than €50 million was spent on some of the best European yearlings on offer during an exciting renewal of Goffs Orby Book 1, with two seven-figure lots leading the way: a Frankel colt, sold for €2,000,000, and a Frankel filly for €1,000,000.
The Frankel colt (Lot 323), out of Listed-winning Invincible Spirit mare Loch Lein, sold to Anthony Stroud, on behalf of Godolphin with a final bid of €2 million. He was consigned by Croom House Stud.
In the Top 5️⃣, Frankel was the sire of 3, along with Sea The Stars - sire of a €900,000 colt (Lot 267) - and Blue Point, sire of an €850,000 filly (Lot 114). Frankel also sired Lot 10, a colt sold for €780,000.
The Frankel filly, half-sister to top-class racemare Sandrine, also went to Godolphin at a final price of €1 million. She was consigned by Staffordstown.
All in all, the average over two days came to €128,594, a 5% increase over last year, with a median of €80,000. In total, 85% of lots changed hands....
