Senior Phoebe Pohl won her second straight race and the No. 30 nationally ranked Bates women’s cross country team turned in another strong performance on their way to capturing first place at the Bates Invitational, held Saturday morning at Pineland Farms. Pohl raced to the finish of the 6K course in 22:31.0, the fastest in the field of 79 runners and more than 16 seconds ahead of runner-up Catherine Mongan of Colby. Pohl, who captured the Maine State title on Sept. 21, continued her excellent season with another first-place finish, leading Bates to another victory as a team as well.
