As we end 2023, we are looking back to 100 years ago starting with the oldest buildings on campus; Beecher Hall and Whipple Hall. These historic buildings have been spaces for classrooms, dorms, literary societies and libraries. Beecher Hall was the first medical school in Illinois and Whipple Hall was the original preparatory department for Illinois College.
