3rd in qualifying, and running in the top 5 overall by mile 100 - the initial part of my offroad race world debut went very well (I even passed my friend BJ Baldwin)!! But then, my run in “Vegas to Reno” started to fall apart. Literally. Alex Gelsomino and I started getting an unusual amount of flats (from what I’m told) in our 350 mile stint and the trend continued when Jax Redline and his co-driver Bryan Hansen got in. So, it was too many for a chance at the podium spot, especially when we had a power steering issue develop late in the race. We finished 10th, but this race was all about seat time and experience so I feel it was a good outing for my first Trophy Truck race! And, this was great preparation for the Baja 1000, so I am happy about that. Photos by:
