@batesswimanddive seniors Grace Wenger and Natalie Young who received the selective honor of
@collsportscomm Academic All-America second team!
They become the 21st and 22nd CSC Academic All-Americans in the history of Bates athletics, and the first in the history of Bates women’s swimming. This also marks the first time that two Bates athletes from the same sport have earned CSC Academic All-America honors in the same season.
Wenger, a 14-time All-American from Hanover, N.H., sports a 3.87 GPA. The biochemistry major and team captain is also a three-time NESCAC All-Academic honoree and a two-time CSCAA Scholar All-American. Wenger earned her most recent All-American acclaim last month in the 200 freestyle (6th-place), 400 medley relay (13th), and the 800 freestyle relay (10th).
An All-NESCAC performer six times over, Wenger owns school records in the 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 200 freestyle relay, and the 800 freestyle relay.
