Rally racing is a team sport. Driver, co-driver and the crew all play an important and unique role. And most of the time, when you see a crash, it’s usually the driver’s fault (🙋🏻‍♂️mine!). But occasionally, a co-driver will make a mistake too. Unfortunately, my co-driver Alex had a small slip-up yesterday (delivered a note a few seconds late due to an earlier compression that affected his timing) and we hit a small washout, and broke our front left ball joint. . The race car got repaired there on stage with the team’s help (for which we have gotten a huge +3 hour penalty for), but we have gone from battling for a top-3 podium spot, to being at the back of the field. . Alex is gutted, and I understand that these things happen, but at least we are still running and can enjoy the final 4 days of racing on these amazing Kenyan roads. #Porsche911 #TuthillPorsche #EastAfricanSafariClassicRally
