There were 351 brave swimmers aboard the Columbia Gorge Sternwheeler on Labor Day, all aiming to complete a 1.1 mile open-water swim. The Columbia River Cross Channel Swim has become an Oregon tradition, with 2024 marking the 80th annual event. The swim is in good fun and not considered a race.
