The first time I drove on Pikes Peak was when it was a round of the Rally America National Championship back in 2005 (my first year of racing rally). I grew up dreaming of racing on that epic road, and I ended up doing it not as part of the usual hill climb race, but as part of a rally race. It was still 50% dirt at that time, so I got to slide some of those legendary turns, like I saw some of my heroes do in the 80’s. But, I was in a slow Group N rally car, not a high horsepower hill climbing beast. And recently (2017) we made the Climbkhana film there – as a homage to how the race ran when the road was all dirt (it’s all tarmac now) – sliding those legendary turns in my 1400hp Hoonicorn. Well, I think it’s finally time to go back again. To race. And race the race I have never done before: the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. And, in a proper competitive hill climb car!! #PikesPeak#Climbkhana#HoonicornV2
