Meet Illini Nellie 🐄, the legen-dairy Brown Swiss who set records in the 1930s for milk production—enough for 23.5 families for over a decade! 💫 She’s one of two Illini buried on campus, alongside U of I’s first regent, John Milton Gregory.
Her grave is located at the Lincoln Avenue Dairy, still home to cutting-edge research and hands-on learning for today’s Illini.
