Today, I’m incredibly proud to share that I’ve now helped pass my 11th law to protect children from child abuse in residential treatment facilities 🥹 Thank you CAgovernor Gavin Newsom for signing #SB1043 The Accountability in Children’s Treatment Act into law! I am grateful for the action you are taking 🙏🏼This law will bring much-needed oversight to youth residential facilities in CA, and I’m proud to have partnered with Senator ShannonGroveCA and the legislature to help make this change a reality. This is a cause that’s deeply personal to me — having survived trauma in my own youth and I’m committed to ensuring no child has to endure the pain and silence I did 💖 As yesterday was the start of #ADHDAwarenessMonth, I also want to acknowledge that I was sent into the #TroubledTeenIndustry because I was undiagnosed and the people in my life didn’t know how to best support me. No child needs to be “fixed,” they need to be empowered and supported and today is a reminder of that for me ❤...
