The students of New Trier’s Integrated Global Studies School (IGSS) have been participating in a project-based learning unit on the environment and infrastructure this fall! After focusing on a topic to research as a “task force,” students pitched plans of action to a mock UN panel while answering a specific question: how can public infrastructure help humans solve the current climate crisis? In addition to the competencies they acquired through this multi-faceted project, students gained expertise on sustainable environmental AND institutional practices.
