A 9-week-old puppy was kidnapped from the Oregon Humane Society on Monday night, but the dog, named Fireball, is now back home at the shelter and safe, the animal-welfare organization said.
Fireball was taken from the Humane Society facility on Northeast Columbia Boulevard around 7 p.m. Monday, spokesperson Laura Klink said in an emailed statement.
Security-camera footage released by the humane society shows four people walk into the shelter. One person puts the lab-pitbull mix under his shirt and walks out. The brazen kidnapping prompted the Oregon Humane Society to offer a $500 reward for information.
