The moments you see at @Chicago Marathon are life-changing. Our Team Captain Tony Konidaris is the reason we have spots in the Marathon. We feel so honored to be part of something that has become one of our favorite events of the year. At mile 21, Tony texted me that he was hanging with Carl, who has run 70 (!) marathons and this year raised $200,000 for 3 charities, setting a Marathon record for fundraising. Carl helped get Tony into marathons and inspired him to raise money for charity. We were lucky enough to have Tony come to Team Roo. Tony said if he saw Carl on the route, he would finish the race with him. The 2 crossed the finish line together, as Tony stood by Carl's side for his final marathon. It brings all the tears and is the epitome of what Team Roo stands for. Tony wanted to pay Carl back for all he has inspired in him. Pretty remarkable. We are so proud of Tony and ALL of our runners.
