We start off this week by acknowledging the CCC Athletes of the week, MXC's own Enija Brown-Griffin and John Young. MXC Center Enija Brown-Griffin earned the award with her double-double performance against Highland. In that game, she scored 20 points while grabbing 12 rebounds. Brown-Griffin's tenacity around the boards is evident in her performance averaging 11 rebounds per game which ranks her first in NJCAA Region 4. John Young's week was highlighted by a career best 46 point performance in the Hawks win over Daley College. In that game, he shot 68% from the field and was a perfect 11-11 from the free throw line. Young ranks third among all NJCAA Region 4 players with a season average of 22.9 points per game.
