The Volunteer Richard Keffer Memorial Good Samaritan Award was established to recognize students in our community who consistently demonstrate extraordinary acts of kindness toward other members of the St. Joe’s community. The award is named in honor of Mr. Richard Keffer, a dedicated St. Joe’s volunteer whose kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit were inspiring to all who knew him. We are pleased to announce and present this month’s Volunteer Richard Keffer Memorial Good Samaritan Award to one of our 9th-grade students, Evan Reilly. Last month, Evan was in Math Class the period before lunch. Evan noticed that as the class was leaving, there was one student who stayed behind because he did not have money to purchase lunch on that particular day. After everyone else in the class had left, Evan Reilly came back into the room, pulled out $10, and gave it to his peer so that he could enjoy lunch with the rest of his classmates that day.
