Mike Cuellar holds the distinction of being the first Latino pitcher to win the Cy Young Award when he shared AL honors in 1969, winning 23 games with a 2.38 ERA for the Orioles.
The Cuban-born Cuellar averaged 21 wins for Baltimore over a six-year period from 1969-1974.
He won a career-best 24 games in 1970 when he helped the Orioles win the World Series. OTD in 1970, Cuellar tossed a complete-game victory in the Game 5 clincher over Cincinnati.
