Today, on the International Day for Poverty Eradication, we reflect on our theory of change to address issues of extreme poverty in our partner communities.
Impoverished rural communities in
#BurkinaFaso &
#Malawi are trapped in a negative cycle of poverty that is exacerbated and difficult to escape as a result of the interconnected issues of a lack of access to clean water, education, and sustainable agriculture.
By focusing our interventions on addressing these three interrelated areas, we believe each individual and community will have the resources and opportunities needed to improve their own lives, and to lift themselves and future generations from poverty.
And by scaling up our student sponsorship, drilling wells, strengthening schools, and solar-irrigated community farm programs, our goal is empowered communities, and ultimately, the eradication of extreme poverty.
