Have you noticed this uniquely designed hotel popping up on your social feeds? That’s because the Populus had its grand opening in Denver earlier this week. What some may mistake as singing mouths was actually designed by studiogang to resemble an aspen tree from the inside out. But, that’s not the full story. Populus is the first carbon-positive hotel in the United States which used low-carbon concrete mixes, high-recycled materials, and more during construction, and is offsetting its long-term carbon footprint by planting trees across Gunnison County, Colorado. Together, the trees will sequester more carbon than the building can emit in its life *and* guests can even visit the newly planted forest themselves. Would you book a stay here?
