Thought your hometown put together a nice pumpkin patch or fall festival? We’d argue it’s nothing compared to Tualatin’s Giant Pumpkin Regatta, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this weekend 🎃.
Since 2004, the small town about 30 minutes south of Portland has gathered around Tualatin Commons Lake to celebrate fall with Atlantic Giant Pumpkins. The name of the game here is: Gourd big or gourd home. Exactly how big you may be wondering? Typically between 600 and 800 pounds, while some have been known to be over 1200 lbs 🤯. And they’re not just carving these bad boys… They’re testing their pumpkin paddling skills by racing them across the lake. There are only two real rules: You can’t have a motor, and you have to wear a costume.
