Nourishing young minds, one meal at a time! Africa’s Largest Kitchen, a project by Food4Education, is feeding 60,000 kids in Nairobi every day with locally sourced, nutritious meals. That ensures food security for 25% of the population of Nairobi, which is experiencing one of the world’s most acute food crises. Founder Wawira Njiru says they are “creating the blueprint for scalable, replicable, and cost-efficient school feeding across Africa.” This initiative not only tackles food insecurity but also boosts the local economy by supporting farmers and providing jobs. Africa’s Largest Kitchen is on track to reach its long-term goal of feeding 1 million kids each day by 2027 and 3 million by 2030 after setting and achieving impressive short-term goals in Nairobi.
