The CHS Flight Club welcomed a special guest last week as retired United States Air Force Pilot Col. Walter Gordon logged some flight time in one of our flight simulators. Col. Gordon, a retired aerospace engineer and C-130 pilot with over 2,000 flight hours, was commander of the 328th Airlift Squadron and 914th Airlift Wing in Niagara Falls during a 30-year career with the Air Force Reserve. He is a veteran of Operations Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom. CHS Flight Club advisor Dr. Mark Veronica, a school counselor at Canisius, and students put the simulator's setting to a C-130, and Col. Gordon said he felt right at home in the virtual cockpit of his former Air Force plane. We thank Col. Gordon for his service and for spending some of his time with our students. Students interested in CHS Flight Club and the excellence only found in a Jesuit education at Canisius – ranked as Buffalo’s “Best Catholic School” by Business First – can learn more by arranging a first-hand experience...
