Before tonight’s Homecoming game, we had the honor of inducting our first formally elected superintendent and first High School football coach, the late Henry Trist, into the VCS Athletics Hall of Fame. Trist was foundational in building the school into what it is today, and as a football coach, he led the Crusaders to four Delphic League six-man titles and one co-championship. Trist coached six VCS Athletics Hall of Fame inductees, and his players won 14 all-league honors from 1965-1970.   A deeply devoted man of faith, Trist was represented by his son and former VCS student, teacher, and coach, Byron Trist, and his daughter-in-law, Shirley (Kirk) Trist from Village Christian’s first High School graduating class (1966). _____
