SHINING BRIGHT: Homecoming Week concluded Friday afternoon with a pep rally in which the Student Council honored all nominees and announced the homecoming court before the varsity football against Connally. Freshmen Silas Savitsky, who was named Baron, alongside Baroness Makenna Vasquez, said the experience was exciting but also nerve-racking. “I was scared because I had to walk in front of a bunch of people,” Savitsky said. Savitsky said he knew of his nomination but waited to ask people to vote for him. When he discovered he was royalty, Savitsky said he was pleased. “I felt happy, but I was still pretty scared,” Savitsky said. Along with Savitsky and Vasquez, a royal representative from each class, nominated by their classmates, was announced to the Homecoming court.
