The first quarter of the Homecoming game began with a touchdown by senior running back Mitchell Butler on Mac’s first possession. Senior kicker Owen Gerstner scored the extra point. Connally started their first possession next, ending with a touchdown to tie the game. Senior wide receiver Mark Sanchez received Connally’s punt before senior Luke Dunham led Mac to the red zone. After a brief timeout, Mac decided to kick instead of attempting a fourth down. Gerstner’s kick was successful, ending the first quarter in Mac’s favor, 10-7. Caption by Nate Williams.
