CHOPS FOR HOMECOMING: The McCallum band trombone section started working on head chops about a month ago to premier it in the stands at the homecoming football game tomorrow night at House Park.
Trombone section leader Mateo Rodriguez said that head chops are one of greatest activities to do as a section as it brings everyone together.
“It requires full trust and commitment from everyone and is such a focused yet fun thing that we do,” Rodriguez said.
Rodriguez is excited to bring back head chops back to the trombones as it was one of his favorites as an underclassmen, and he can’t wait to continue on the transition that had faded out.
“I’m confident that we will be ready for the homecoming game,” he said. “I love to do head chops. As a freshman, it was one of the most exciting things that I did in band and helped me get close with my section. It’s a great tradition that the trombones have carried and I hope it continues to be passed down.”
