The 4A West Regional Championship did not disappoint as Grimsley and Weddington went toe to toe for 4 quarters. With their backs against the wall Grimsley came back and won beating the Warriors of Weddington 28-27 thanks to a blocked FG which led to a Mitchell Summers touchdown run. The Whirlies will be taking on the New Bern Bears this upcoming Friday inside Kenan Memorial Stadium at UNC for a chance to win another State Championship.
