My Dad’s passing has been an excruciating loss for my family and I, but through the grief there is an opportunity to spread awareness about the importance of mental health and let others know they are not alone. There are resources available for those who are struggling and who are concerned about someone they love. My family and I started the Dr. Douglas Skura Memorial Fund to support the mission of saving lives and showing there is hope for those who have lost someone to suicide. My Dad was a great man who loved his family, friends and the patients he served. I miss his presence and our conversations everyday. I don’t want a family to feel this type of loss or someone to feel like there is no way out. Please know you are not alone ...
