Earlier this month at GulfIslandsNPS, we partnered with PHWFF to welcome veterans and their families to the park for a day of fishing and reconnecting with nature. After an educational presentation, the participants found their perfect spots along the white sand beach and began fly fishing. Participating veterans were presented with an America the Beautiful Interagency Military Lifetime Pass, granting them access to more than 2,000 federal recreational sites, including all National Park Service locations, forever!
