First Half Marathon in the books and done back at home.
This was my longest race ever and man what a journey to get here. Life changes, cutting almost 25 lbs, more mileage. I don’t think I’ve ever pushed my body to this limit. I started to cramp at about Mile 11, where I said ok I can go slow. I kept my pace almost the entire race. I thought I was doing wayyy better than I expected. Mile 12.54 (I checked), tightness in both my calves to the point I couldn’t move but I kept telling myself “LEGS JUST GIVE ME TWO MORE MILES”. Not the last half mile, not another mile, give me two. I didn’t work this hard to come up short but I finished. The video looked great, I was in pain, but I finished.
It’s time to rest and get back into it. I want to crush my next half marathon time. Now that I have a baseline, I can only go up. Thanks to the guys as well for constantly pushing me.
Shoutout
@dmvtechrep for keeping me outfitted in the best gear. This was my first long distance race in the Metaspeed...
