My biggest IL deer to date! The “Thin Ten” taped out at 163 7/8s. We let him go last year At 4 in hopes he would turn into something special at 5 and boy did we make the right call. The first picture i got him in 2024 was actually from my neighbor Chris. That picture was laser focused me on hunting him. He lived on all of us and roamed a lot so I knew it wasn’t going to be easy, but with enough time in the stand I’d get my chance. I drove back and forth from Iowa many times, only able to hunt 1 day and turn back around and get back to work. But the last time, it payed off. At 7:45am he came in to check one of my mock scrapes, and I was ready. I sent the beast_broadheads through him quartering away at 45 yards. When he heard the bow go off, he turned to see what it was making him more broadside than when i shot causing the hit to be back. At first, I thought it was guts, but when I picked up my arrow, it was obviously liver. Disappointed, but knew if I didn’t push him he wouldn’t be far...
