I didn’t start out with a video camera in my hand at 3 years old or make home videos like most. It started when I was in my high schools video academy classes. But where it REALLY started was when I watched the “EXTRAS” dvd that came in the case for the Lord of The Rings The Fellowship of The Ring. Watching the making of it all is what really got me into loving filmmaking. Narrative is fun and definitely allows for your creativity to mold into something wonderful to watch on the screen, but I love telling stories of actual people. Do you ever see someone just randomly on the street and say “I wonder what their story is”. That’s me. There’s a lot we can learn from another person and just hearing their stories and how colorful they are and even at times how emotional they are. I find this connection when I can listen to someone’s story and imagine how to tell it visually that speaks to them. Being in this creative world is where I’ve always felt I fit in.
