FROM THE VAULT: The Orange Bowl has a rich history of incredible moments. Join us as we revisit unforgettable performances and celebrate the legacy of the legendary bowl game.  From the 1950s to the 1970s, Oklahoma Sooners superfan Cecil Samara drove his 1925 Model-T coupe all the way from Oklahoma to Miami for every Orange Bowl game the Sooners appeared in. With a top speed of just 35mph, his 1,500-mile journey could take up to three weeks! Though Cecil passed away in 1994, his legacy lives on. The Sooners paid tribute to him by unveiling a refurbished version of the iconic vehicle at their home game against South Carolina this past weekend. From its inception in 1935, the Orange Bowl has been a driving force in college football, shaping the sport and impacting communities. More than just a game.
