The eruption of Hawaii's Mauna Loa volcano has made for some incredible scenes from The Aloha State 🤩
Lava from the volcano continues to creep closer to a major highway that connects the cities of Hilo and Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii. Mauna Loa, the world's largest active volcano, began erupting on Nov. 27 after remaining quiet for nearly 40 years. While no structures are threatened, the volcano is spewing potentially-hazardous gases that's created "vog" -- or volcanic smog. But, thankfully, the amount of ash that the volcano is emitting appears to be significantly reduced from when it first started erupting more than a week ago.
➡️ Swipe for some of the sights of Mauna Loa and a behind the scenes look at FOX Weather's maxgorden who has been reporting with the latest from the volcano since last week. Catch his reports on the FOX Weather app.
