We join the world in mourning the loss of #grizzly399, who died on Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle in Snake River Canyon in Wyoming. Grizzly bear 399 had a yearling cub with her, whose whereabouts are currently unknown. At 28 years of age, she was the oldest reproducing female grizzly and an iconic mascot and matriarch of Grand Teton National Park, near Yellowstone — with more than 20 cubs and grandcubs.
